Occasionally, synovitis manifests. In these cases, synovial fluid accumulates within the joint capsule of the knee. The knee region becomes edematous, and the leg is restricted in its movements.

Following arthro-medullary shunting, the necessity for intra-articular injections of hyaluronic acid, PRP therapy, and stromal vascular fraction therapy is eliminated.
